Renate Ober was born in Hannover, Nothern Germany. After finishing school she took
up training in a bank and worked there for several years, during which time she
started studying art at the Adult College, Hannover.
After moving to England she resumed art studies at evening classes at Richmond
Adult College and began exhibiting seven years ago. Her work is sold through
galleries, exhibitions, with art scoieteies and from her home. In 1992 and
1994 she had a one person shows at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith and in 1995
she had a one person show in Bad Saarow, near Berlin, Germany. Today she
has works in America, France, Germany, Austria, and Great Britain.
She paints for her own joy. She hates dryness and is unconcerned with reality,
wanting each painting to be a feast for the eye, a celebration of life.
